About Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis and other appropriate theraputic techniques. You should not associate hypnotherapy with stage hypnotism. Hypnosis is a spontaneous and naturally occurring state, similar to controlled daydreaming- a bit like when we drive a car safely to a destination without having to think about it, or being totally absorbed in a book and unaware of our surroundings. It can be brought about deliberately by a skilled practitioner and release us from the here-and-now.

Hypnosis brings about pleasantly deep relaxation of body and mind, clear focus of attention, reduced awareness of the every-day world and greater awareness of internal sensations. It is not 'magic' or 'mind control'. You cannot be made to do anything you don't want to do, and are in control at all times.

With my input as a properly trained therapist you can examine any damaging ways in which you are thinking and behaving now, and bring about desired, positive and lasting changes in your life at mental, emotional and physical levels.

Sessions normally last around one hour and are completely confidential.
